Among the CD18 Houston Hopefuls
Congressional District 18 Hopefuls Make Final Push in the Houston Press mentions me among the Houston hopefuls in the final days of the race for Congressional District 18. The article is correct to point out that I’m not discouraged by the polls precisely because the sample sizes have often been low, or sometimes they have not even asked my name when conducting the poll. A lot of the local news has avoided mentioning me among the candidates even though I have participated in many of the same big debates, and a lot of that has to do with money. Unlike some competitors, I’m raising only grassroots donations to avoid entanglements that would interfere with me serving the people directly. I won’t be beholden to any of the political establishment trying to pull strings on the U.S. Representative behind the scenes. I’m here because I believe the people of our district would prefer to have someone who will serve the people, not the powerful. I have raised significant funds, but it’s less than some, and I’m being very strategic in trying to engage directly with voters. The story also mentioned how I want to help the party do better and I have more extensive expensive in real-world industries than the other candidates due to over 2 decades of solving problems in energy, finance and healthcare.
